A sound investment – Autograph supports Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular

An old favourite of Autograph returned to the stage last night, with the beginning of a new World Tour, Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular. This lavish new production by Cameron Mackintosh, featuring songs from the show with performances by some of the biggest stars in musical theatre, commenced its run at the SSE Arena in Belfast, with a full sound package provided by Autograph.

Les Miserables - touring with sound package from Autograph

In preparation for the tour, Autograph invested more than £1m in a large Panther PA system from US-based manufacturer Meyer Sound (see news here), as specified by the show’s award-winning sound designer, Mick Potter. Both Autograph and Potter have long associations with Les Misérables, over many years and in productions across the world, and we’re delighted to continue that relationship.

For the UK dates, Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly are sharing the role of Jean Valjean, while Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden will share the role of Valjean’s adversary, Javert. Backed by a cast and orchestra of over 65, the production will continue into 2025 at venues across Europe and Asia.

Look out for more on this production in a future issue of Light&Sound International magazine . . .
